Engraven Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Engraven, made by Sedona Tech Solutions LLC. By downloading or using Engraven, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. What Engraven is
Engraven is a Bible memorization app: a memorization engine (spaced repetition across several study methods and games), an optional AI coach that encourages and quizzes you, and Listen, an audio mode for a passage you're learning. Engraven's Scripture text always comes from a fixed set of public-domain Bible translations stored in the app, never from AI-generated text. Your review schedule comes from the app's own scheduler, and your answers are checked on your phone, word for word against the verse, not by the AI. The coach does not write, alter, or paraphrase Scripture, and it is not a source of doctrine or theological instruction. For questions about what a passage means, we point you to your pastor or church, not to a chatbot.
2. Accounts
Engraven does not require an account, sign-up, or password. Your memorization data lives on your device, tied to that installation of the app, not to an identity we hold.
3. Free tier and Premium subscription
Engraven offers a free tier and a Premium subscription.
- Free includes the memorization engine and every practice mode and game, with up to 25 verses in your library, one active whole-book plan at a time, and real (if limited) access to the AI coach, at no cost, for as long as you use the app.
- Premium removes those limits, adds a certificate for every whole book you complete, and unlocks every coach persona, palette, and garment. It costs $6.99/month or $39.99/year in the US (your store shows the price in your own currency before you buy), billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. There is no lifetime or one-time purchase.
- On the App Store: Engraven Premium is an auto-renewing subscription. It renews at the price shown unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends; your Apple Account is charged within the 24 hours before each renewal.
- On Google Play: Engraven Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, charged to your Google Play account. It renews at the price shown at the end of each period until you cancel.
- Cancelling: manage or cancel any time in your App Store account settings or in Google Play's Subscriptions, or from Settings › Manage subscription in Engraven. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the period you've paid for ends.
- Refunds follow Apple's or Google's own refund policies; we don't process payments or refunds ourselves.
- We may change Premium's price or what it includes going forward; we won't change what you've already paid for during a subscription period you've already paid.
4. Appearance items and "Marks"
Coach personas, palettes, garments, and other appearance options are unlocked either through Premium or by earning them for free through practice ("Marks"). Nothing purchasable in Engraven, Premium included, makes memorization itself faster or easier. Marks and unlocked appearance items have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and are for use inside Engraven only. If your Premium subscription lapses, appearance items you've already unlocked with Marks stay unlocked.
5. Scripture content and translations
Engraven ships the King James Version, the World English Bible, and the Berean Standard Bible, each free for anyone to use and redistribute under its own public-domain or dedicated-public-domain terms. The "World English Bible" name is a trademark of eBible.org, used here to accurately name the translation, not to claim endorsement by eBible.org. Additional translations are owned by their publishers and would require a signed license before we could ever include them; Engraven does not include, and will never silently add, a translation it hasn't licensed.
6. Acceptable use
Please use Engraven only for its intended purpose: memorizing Scripture and interacting with the coach in good faith. Don't try to extract, scrape, or republish the app's content or backend responses at scale; don't attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or abuse the coach service; don't use the coach to generate content unrelated to Bible memorization and ask it to pretend otherwise. We may suspend access for use that abuses or disrupts the service for other users.
7. Your content
Anything you type to the coach (chat messages, Quiz me answers, Teach it back explanations) stays yours. You grant us only the limited right to process it to produce a reply, as the Privacy Policy describes. We don't publish or share it, and the AI provider that writes the replies does not train its models on it.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Engraven is provided "as is." We work hard to make the memorization engine, the coach, and Listen reliable, but we don't guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly accurate in every feature. The coach's replies are written by an AI model and can be wrong; you can report any reply that is wrong about Scripture, unkind, or otherwise off with "Report this reply". How well Speak it hears you depends on your phone's own speech recognition, which we don't control. Engraven is not a source of religious instruction, counseling, or doctrine, and nothing in the app should be treated as authoritative teaching in place of your own pastor, church, or study of Scripture itself.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Sedona Tech Solutions LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Engraven. Nothing here limits any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
10. Changes to the app and these terms
We may update Engraven's features and these terms over time. Continuing to use the app after a terms update means you accept the update. If a change is significant, we'll try to flag it clearly rather than bury it in a version-number bump.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using Engraven at any time by deleting the app; see the Privacy Policy for what that does to your data. We may suspend or end access for a violation of §6 (Acceptable use).
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Engraven will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Yavapai County, Arizona, and both you and Sedona Tech Solutions LLC consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
